Debra Cope, President of Cope Financial PR, brings more than 30 years of experience in financial journalism and corporate communications to her clients. She is recognized for her deep expertise across the financial services sector — including banking, asset management, insurance, pensions, and investment banking — as well as for her exceptional writing and editorial skills.
Debra is known for helping clients navigate complex reputational and strategic challenges. She maintains strong relationships with journalists and producers at major national and global media outlets, as well as across leading industry trade publications. A respected author and voice on corporate governance, Debra is also a regular presenter at industry conferences
Her career includes senior newsroom roles at Bloomberg and American Banker, and leadership positions at Promontory Financial Group (an IBM company) and national banking trade associations. Her clients have ranged from Top 10 U.S. banks to community and regional banks, law firms, trade groups, registered investment advisers, consultancies, insurance underwriters, mortgage companies, and nonprofits.
